Lacoste continues to integrate its operations. The French brand, which achieved a turnover of over two billion euros globally in 2016, has taken direct control overs its operations on the Spanish market. It recently purchased the entirety of BASI Group, which had assured the brand's presence in the country since 1962.

"The group's premiumisation strategy includes taking control of the majority of its distribution networks around the world," stated Thierry Guibert, president of Lacoste Holding. "As part of this strategy, we are pleased to acquire this affiliate in Spain in order to extend and accelerate the investments started by BASI Group. I would like to warmly thank the Basi family for having contributed to the development of the Lacoste brand in Spain for over 50 years."

Through BASI Group, the Basi family installed some one hundred points of sale in the country, including subsidiaries, franchises, shop-in-shops and outlets.

In addition to Lacoste, the Spanish group is partnered with the brands Nautica and Cole Haan in Spain, but also distributes its own label, Armand Basi.
