Longchamp and Kate Moss celebrate London flagship

Longchamp has chosen Regent Street as the home of its biggest European flagship. Despite having a store around the corner on New Bond Street, the family-owned French brand has set up shop in Quiksilver’s former lodgings. Measuring 500m², the boutique is a temple of handbags and luggage, but also features ready-to-wear collections for men and women as well as the brand’s latest venture: footwear.

The store’s opening party on Saturday evening was certainly a star-studded event. Amongst those present were Kate Moss, a friend of the brand and the inspiration behind the ‘Kate Moss’ handbag. Also on the guestlist were socialites Pixie Geldoff and Alexa Chung and model Georgia May Jagger. Hosts Mick Jagger and L’Wren Scott honoured special guest CEO Jean Cassegrain at the event. The brand’s current campaign model, Canadian Coco Rocha made an appearance as well as president of the British Fashion Council Caroline Rush.

“There are people here from all generations of British culture,” said Jean Cassegrain, grandson of the label's founder, to FashionMag.
Founded 60 years ago, the French brand is owned independently and is known for its famous ‘Le Pliage’ nylon and leather bags.
