Nov 1, 2016
Korea's Lotte Group has launched an online shopping site in Vietnam, in a bid to expand into the country’s e-commerce market.]

Lotte -- a major retailer in South Korea -- established a limited company named Lotte E-commerce Vietnam in February and since has recruited local sellers to prepare for the new website, Lotte.vn.
Lotte.vn will offer goods and services based on the retail networks of Lotte Department Store, Lotte Mart, Lotte Home Shopping and L.POINT, which opened earlier in Vietnam, the group said.
According to Lotte, the Vietnam-specific mall will act like an open market to meet the varying demands of the Vietnamese, in particular young women, and will see 500 popular local sellers set up shop, along with Lotte affiliates.
The latter, as well as foreign cosmetics brands, will include Shiseido, Lancome and Kiehls. However, Lotte will also promote Korean beauty products from local firms such as The Face Shop and Laneige.
Lotte will also introduce more contemporary e-commerce systems, such as direct delivery and a membership service, to the Vietnam market via the new platform, it said.
More than 90 percent of items purchased in Ho Chi Minh City will be delivered to customers in 24 hours through the group’s L.express.
The daily delivery service will also be available in five other major cities, including Hanoi, Danang, Can Tho and Hai Phong.
