UBM plc announced on Tuesday the launch of IFF Magic Japan, a new joint venture between Magic and JFW-International Fashion Fair, Japan’s longest running bi-annual fashion business tradeshow organized by Senken Shimbun. The first IFF Magic Japan event will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center on April 26-27, 2017.

"Fashion is a truly global industry, and we are thrilled for MAGIC's upcoming expansion into the Japan market in partnership with JFW-International Fashion Fair, and UBM Japan," said Chris DeMoulin, Managing Director, Fashion, UBM America's. "Our combined expertise will not only help IFF MAGIC Japan evolve quickly to meet the dynamic needs of the Japanese market, but will provide a new platform for UBM Fashion's global customer base to find new business partners and brands in Japan as well."

IFF Magic Japan 2017 will be held as the cornerstone of Japan Fashion Week in Tokyo and will feature new brands on an easy to navigate show floor that will maximize the experience for both retailers and exhibitors. The new show will also launch with a developed social media presence and show floor activations.

Though Japan is the third largest fashion market in the world after the US and EU, the country has not yet hosted a truly international fashion trade fair. IFF Magic Japan will serve a high-profile showcase of Japanese fashion brands and designers to promote themselves to Japan and the global market.

UBM plc is the producer of Magic, which is comprised of Project and the ENK family of shows.
