Manolo Blahnik creates socks with Falke
Manolo Blahnik, the iconic footwear designer, can now offer even more luxurious products for feet after teaming up with Falke, the German sock manufacturer.
The designer considers socks to be a finishing touch to an outfit and says: "I am very excited about this collaboration. Socks connect your feet with the clothes you are wearing and can make a punctuating statement. I have so many pairs in various colours and materials. Playing with patterns and textures is a lot of fun. And I love when women wear socks with high heels!"
His and Falke's collection consists of three different unisex socks: ribbed heather grey socks with pink pom poms, inspired by the decorative curtains in Spanish homes, a light pink pair with fuchsia spots, inspired by polka dot dresses which Manolo’s mother used to wear, and an ivory pair, inspired by Manolo’s memories of watching his family play tennis. This more sporty sock features an embroidered pink quote which reads ‘Keep Going’; Blahnik's favourite phrase, the company said.
The socks will be sold exclusively in the e-shop of Caroline Issa's Because magazine and retail for £25.
Caroline Issa, Publisher of TANK and Because said: "I am so pleased that Because magazine and Fashion Scan are collaborating with Falke and Manolo Blahnik for this exciting project - how could anyone resist a pair of socks imagined from the creative mind that is Mr. Blahnik? Warm AND chic feet-win win!"
