Marie France Van Damme to open pop-up in Bal Harbour
Hong Kong based designer Marie France Van Damme will be opening a pop-up shop for six months at the Bal Harbour Shops in Florida featuring the designer's line of globally influenced luxury resort, swim and ready-to-wear.
The pop-up will offer an exclusive assortment from the designer's ‘Dolce Vita’ collection. Pieces include day dresses and evening wear, resort wear, bathing suits, and caftans.
Marie France Van Damme describes the pop-up as an offering of "the best of both worlds: luxe day resort wear, and chic evening looks."
The retail design of the pop-up will employ the brand's signature aesthetic which is a blend of subtle and elegant Asian influences of teak wood, bronze panels and embossed crocodile leathers. Customers will recognize the embossed crocodile leathers, textiles and finishes from the brand's flagship stores in London and Hong Kong.
To celebrate the launch of the pop-up, Marie France Van Damme will also host a series of special events and roll out an in-store campaign photographed in Hong Kong by Herbert Ypma.
The pop-up is the designer's latest foray into a physical retail presence in the Stares, following a first US boutique opening in LA in September 2017 at The Peninsula Beverly Hills. The label opened its tenth global store in Marrakech at La Mamounia this month.
The brand's retail strategy is to open brick-and-mortar doors in cities that both inspire the designer and also appeal to her jet-set customer.
"Like me, our customer travels around the world, and she needs to find things that will look beautiful during the day as well as at night; from the beach to a cocktail or dinner in the evening,” says Marie France Van Damme.
She will next appear in Miami in July to show her 2019 swim collection at Miami Swim Week.
The Bal Harbour pop-up will open January 17th and run through June 2018. It is located on the second floor of the Bal Harbour Shops in Miami Beach adjacent to Saks Fifth Avenue.
