Moschino menswear leaves Milan for Shanghai

Moschino will not appear on the Milan men’s fashion week schedule this season. The brand, operated by the group Aeffe, has chosen to skip continents to show in Asia instead. An event has been organized on June 15 at Shanghai’s Sunny Bund Beach.

More than 450 guests will attend the fashion show and cocktail event where they will not only be presented the menswear collection, but also resort spring-summer 2014 and a selection of archived Moschino looks will also hit the runway. The house was founded in 1983 by Franco Moschino and today has Rossella Jardini and Bill Shapiro at helm for women’s and menswear respectively.

Moschino and its third line Love Moschino have a retail network of 20 stores in China. Most recently, the brand celebrated the opening of two news stores in Hong Kong, one in the Harbour City shopping centre and a second in Elements Mall.

In 2012, the brand reported turnover of 151.8 million euros, an increase of 9.2% on the previous year. To date, Moschino has 130 stores and points of sale across the world.
