At the end of 2018, Japanese cosmetics company Shiseido (Shiseido, bareMinerals...) will open a new research center. Currently referred to as the "Global Innovation Center", it will be located in the Japanese port city of Yokohama and will cover 75,000 square feet. The company plans to construct a 16-storey building for a cost of 230 to 300 million euros.

This move is part of Shiseido’s overall strategy and its "Vision 2020" plan, which involves increased investment in research and development.
Shiseido, which intends to orient research by geographic region, already has research centers in Japan, China, Thailand, France and the United States.
The company also aims to increase the number of its researchers from 1,000 to 1,500 in 2020.
