Sport 2000 International continues its expansion in Europe: Sport Alliance International, which pools together 265 sports stores in Italy and also some in Austria, has now joined the group. The Italian purchasing group was founded by Sportler and Sportland, and in 2014 it generated a revenue of €275 million.

"The partnership with Sport Alliance allows us to accelerate towards our goal, that of becoming a global group. The bundling of purchasing capacities and the use of synergy effects are significant benefits. Also, there will be the opportunity of launching consolidated communications and marketing campaigns across Europe, something which is interesting for international brands," Harold J. Rubrech, CEO of Sport 2000 International, has explained. The stores belonging to Sport Alliance International will need to add to their logos the words 'Official partner of Sport 2000'.
Last September, Swedish retailer Team Sportia and Finnish retailer SGN Sportia, two sports retail brands owned by the SGN group, joined the Sport 2000 International purchasing group.
The group claims to be the number two purchasing group in Europe, and last year its revenues reached €6.3 billion. The network operates 3,854 stores in over twenty countries.
