The deal is particularly important as transforms a standard licensing agreement to an extended collaboration which will see the two group working together on “sourcing with Topline Corp., a company with an advanced production platform especially in Asia recently acquired by Steven Madden,” according to the company press release. BasicNet also owns brands Kappa, Robe di Kappa, K-Way and JesusJeans.

The existing collaboration with The Row - designed by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olden - will also be reinforced. Not only will more corners be opened, the group will be opening further single-brand stores following the brand’s first opening in May 2012 in New York.
The new contract guarantees a minimum wholesale turnover of 100 million dollars. Steve Madden is looking to reach 250 million dollars in turnover.
