Vans x A Tribe Called Quest launch new collection
Vans and A Tribe Called Quest are the latest street label and hip-hop collaborators, launching a new collection for adults and kids celebrating the legendary 90s hip-hop group.
Six styles of Vans are in the collection being billed as "two tribes unite." Styles include the Slip-On and Old Skool models, while design inspiration is taken from artwork on the hip-hop group's most popular albums. Lyrics are incorporated into design features and are printed on shoelaces and other graphic embellishments.
To kick off the collection, Vans is hosting a two-day pop-up at House of Vans in Brooklyn. Customers can shop the collaboration, get autographs, and listen to live music performances curated by A Tribe Called Quest.
Vans follows the trend of street and skate brands collaborating with 90s hip-hop stars, as in Supreme's recent collection with Public Enemy.
The Vans x A Tribe Called Quest pop-up takes place March 30-31 in Brooklyn. The collection officially launches April 6. Price points will range from approximately $40 to $85.
