Wacoal changes President for first time in 31 years, Vice-President Yasuhara to assume office
Wacoal Holdings Corporation has announced that, effective from June 28, Yoshikata Tsukamoto will become the business’ Representative Director and Chairman and Hironobu Yasuhara will become the Representative Director and President. This will be the first time that the business has changed its president in 31 years, including the time before it had become a holding company in 2005.
On April 26, Wacoal Holdings Corporation announced its change of Representative Director and President in a press release that stated that the decision will become official from June 28, following the 70th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders.
The current President, Yoshikata Tsukamoto, is the eldest son of Koichi Tsukamoto, who founded the Wacoal business. In 1987, Tsukamoto took over from his father as the president of Wacoal (now Wacoal Holdings) and will now step into his next role as Representative Director and Chairman.
Hironobu Yasuhara joined the business in 1975 and has served as President of Wacoal China and Head of Wing-Brand Operations among other positions in his long history at the company. Since 2016, Yasuhara has worked as the Director and Vice-President of Wacoal Holdings and was appointed as acting Chairman of Wacoal this month. Yasuhara will now head the business.
