Zara continues to expand its global presence by adding two more countries, Australia and New Zealand, to its online markets this month

According to the company, owned by Spanish retail giant Inditex, customers in Australia and New Zealand will be able to shop online from 14 March. This will further boost the brand’s online presence, which at the end of 2017 reached 44 markets across the world.

E-commerce is a key part of Zara’s expansion, with the group’s flagship brand launching in September an online site for India.

Australia is also becoming increasingly important for the company. Since its launch in the country in 2011, Zara has steadily added more and more stores, and achieved a 15.5% sales growth in 2016 to $256.36 million AUD, or $199 million.

By contrast, New Zealand is one of its newest markets, in which it launched in 2016. The fast-fashion company opened in Auckland its first Kiwi store, which still remains the only one in the country.

Zara has currently a presence in 88 countries worldwide and over 2,200 stores in the largest cities.
