New Look has named Mike Coupe as its Non-Executive Chairman, succeeding Alistair McGeorge who’s been in the chairman’s seat during a particularly turbulent time for the company. Coupe joins on 29 September.
New Look's H1 results showed sales falling but smaller losses with improved Q2 performance. The company’s leadership team thinks it's on the right track and its CEO said "all is to play for as we enter peak trading".
It’s fashion retailer New Look’s 50th anniversary year and while it isn’t quite where it would have wanted to be as it hits its half-century, it does seem to be getting back on track after a very bruising few years.
New Look was upbeat on Wednesday as it focused on the positives in its end-of-Q3 report rather than its continuing sales fall. But it seemed justified in that view as the business is clearly improving.
