Confirmation of Carven's acquisition by Chinese group Icicle has been accompanied by the news that the French label will be able to keep on all of its current employees – all bar one: creative director Serge Ruffieux.
Following predictions from industry observers indicating Chinese company Icicle as the favourite to take over Carven, the French brand has confirmed that the premium fashion group is indeed the new owner of the house.
The Paris Commercial Court will deliver its decision on 12 October, but Carven seems to have found its savior in the Chinese group Icicle, with all in favour of a total takeover, FashionNetwork.com has learned.
Former Balmain CEO Emmanuel Diemoz, who was supposed to table a rescue plan for Carven, has thrown in the towel, FashionNetwork.com has learned. There are just a few days left for any potential buyers to make a move.
