Swedish fashion retailer KappAhl reported its half-year results on Friday and they didn’t make happy reading. Bad weather, heavy discounts and collections that didn’t prove as popular as hoped all dented its figures.
“Lower sales as competition toughens”. That was the headline statement in Nordics fashion retailer KappAhl’s latest sales and earnings report and it underlined how tough Northern Europe’s fashion market is at present.
It was a story of rising sales, margins and operating profit for Swedish group Kappahl in Q2 and H1, with the firm saying its work to rationalise collections, plus its pricing and campaign strategy, are all paying off.
