The second half of 2016 proved to be a tough one for Laura Ashley as the firm faced a challenging backdrop leading to a profit warning Thursday. But it is upbeat and sees improvement ahead as it grows internationally.
Laura Ashley generated sales of £400.9m in the 74 weeks to 30 June 2016. The performance was boosted by sales of furniture and home accessories, while the fashion and decorating segments saw sales fall in the period.
Britain's Laura Ashley plans to tap in to the recovery in the housing market by targeting a younger clientele for its homewares division after a lacklustre performance from its fashion range hurt sales and its shares.
