The CEO of Japanese fashion and retail group Fast Retailing (owner among others of Uniqlo and Comptoir des Cotonniers), said that the group’s top job is better suited to a woman, according to Bloomberg.
Uniqlo is continuing its global rollout and on Monday announced plans to enter the Italian market in 2019. Next autumn, it will open its first store in Milan, on Piazza Cordusio, in the heart of the historical city.
Fast Retailing, owner of Japan’s popular clothing chain Uniqlo, booked a record annual profit and forecast even stronger results in the current year, helped by growth in Asia and a recovery at its US stores.
Roger Federer said on Tuesday his decision to end a 20-year association with Nike and embark on a new chapter with Uniqlo was influenced by Uniqlo’s commitment to stay with him long after his playing days are over.
