The president of YNAP’s fashion division, in charge of Yoox and The Outnet, explained to FashionNetwork.com how Yoox became a leading fashion and luxury e-tailer, and talked about the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
One of the pioneers of online luxury retail, Yoox Net-A-Porter’s CEO Federico Marchetti, is to step down from his role in charge of the Richemont-owned group, although he will stay on as chair of the firm.
A collection by the students and artisans backed by the foundation will go on sale in mid-2020 on Yoox, Net-A-Porter, Mr Porter and The Outnet, and the proceeds will fund some of the foundation’s charity work.
The Outnet is one of fashion’s most successful e-tailers, and a key division within Yoox Net-A-Porter (YNAP), the fashion industry’s online store leader. We met its MD, Emma Mortimer, to hear her latest plans.
YNAP said its Cyber Weekend lived up to predictions with a strong rise in demand for “fine jewellery and watches, partywear and exclusive items as luxury customers treated themselves to something special.”
Luxury shoppers are using ‘cyber weekend’ to treat themselves to exclusives, including luxe watches and jewellery. They also want one-of-a-kind experiences, and are more influenced by Instagram posts than ever.
